New Haven

Newman Architects has offices in New Haven, Connecticut, and Washington, DC. Our New Haven office is in the heart of the Yale University campus, near the Yale Architecture School. Seventy five miles from the center of New York City, New Haven has a rich educational and cultural, and social environment and inexpensive housing in a variety of attractive neighborhoods.

Washington DC

Our mid-Atlantic office, in Washington, DC, is located in the heart of historic Georgetown – steps away from the C&O Canal and the Georgetown Waterfront Park, and one block from the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street, the center of Georgetown’s boutique and dining district. Our offices are a hub of creativity, business and collegiality. Working in an open, collaborative studio environment, our staff are grouped by project team. Our flexible infrastructure provides optimal communication, flexibility and opportunities for learning and exchange.

THE NEWMAN TEAM

Our greatest asset is the talented group of professionals that form Newman Architects.  We employ a technical staff that includes architects, interior designers and professional physical model builders. Our technical staff is proficient in computer-aided design, and our firm is recognized as one of the nation’s leaders 3-D Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Seamless information sharing in the cloud. Supporting the technical design staff we have communications and marketing professionals, an IT manager, and business and administrative support staff. The firm has received 145 awards for design excellence, including six National AIA Awards for Design Excellence and 27 AIA/Connecticut Honor Awards. The firm’s work has appeared regularly in architectural journals in the United States and internationally.

We regularly invite outside guest speakers to present lunchtime continuing education programs for AIA/CES credits. JOINING THE TEAM

We are interested in employing interns, architects and interior designers with varied levels of experience. We value self-motivation, broad professional commitment and an interest in environmental sustainability; experience with Autocad, Revit, 3 D perspective software; general presentation capability, plus organizational and communication skills, including writing.
