The experience we have accumulated tending to the fabric of the cities and towns in
which we have worked, has deepened our understanding and appreciation of the
significance of public architecture.
We are aware of the important role public buildings have in informing human
experience within the cities and towns they occupy and serve. Public buildings not
only shape parts of the physical environment, they reach to the core of what make
cities meaningful as a primary expression of human culture.
