SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

A sustainable design orientation is integral to our thinking about the built environments we design. A member of the U.S. Green Building Council, we maintain a core staff of LEED® accredited professionals and imbed in every project we undertake the principles of sustainability. Our work demonstrates that any project can be 'green' regardless of its type or delivery method – from corporate campuses to design/build dormitories.

Newman Architects has recently finished LEED®-certified projects at Wesleyan University, University of New Hampshire at Keene, and Western Connecticut State University. Our design for the Duracell Corporate Headquarters in Bethel, Connecticut was awarded the Sustainable Design Award by the Boston Society of Architects (1997) and was named one of the AIA Top Ten Environmental Solutions in 1999.
