Connecticut Army National Guard : Niantic, CT
The 84,000 square-foot Regional Training Institute (RTI) was designed and constructed as Phase 1 of the Connecticut Army National Guard RTI facility. This new resource, located on state-owned property at Camp Niantic in Niantic, CT, serves as the regional headquarters for offi cers’ cadet training in the northeast region. It replaces a series of temporary wooden structures built between 1923 through 1945. This brick and masonry structure, with standing metal seam roof, consists of 4 connected buildings – two-story blocks at the east (billeting) and west (administration above the classroom areas plus an auditorium), with a one-story link containing multi-purpose training, supply, kitchen, dining, and various building support facilities. It was patterned to be compatible with existing and projected buildings at Camp Niantic.
