Moving Forward on the Downtown New Haven Coliseum Site
On October 15th, Newman Architects hosted a press conference. In attendance was New Haven Mayor Toni Harp, Matthew Nemerson of the New Haven Economic Development, State Deputy Economic Development Commissioner Tim Sullivan, and LiveWorkLearnPlay’s Max Reim. The press conference was a means to announce Newman Architects’ role in the development and current milestones for the project. The project aims eventually to bring 1,000 mixed-income apartments, 30-40 new businesses, a four-and-a-half-star hotel with 160-190 rooms, 30,000 square feet of stores, and a public square to the property bounded by Orange, George, State streets and MLK Boulevard. Phase 1 is currently underway.
