Steven Orlansky, Principal, leads Newman’s Mid-Atlantic regional office in Washington, DC. A graduate of Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture, Steven’s professional career has focused on designing inspiring learning spaces for children and young adults, and living and gathering spaces for students and communities. His portfolio includes significant K-12 public and private schools in the northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, and higher education projects at Princeton University, Rutgers, UMBC, and Yale University.

Leading Newman’s K-12 Education market sector, Steven is an advocate for use of developing technologies and best practices to improve outcomes for our clients and end users. He is an active contributor to industry organizations and publications, promoting the adoption of evidence-based design and Building Information Modeling (BIM) best practices for the design of educational buildings.

Steven is passionate about projects that extend the fabric of cities, neighborhoods, communities, campuses and historic structures for a new generation. He is respected for his clear communication, his candor, and his ability to bring together diverse stakeholders in support of projects that positively impact communities, campuses, and the public realm.
