Newman is serving as architect of record for a large, two-site student housing development that also includes retail and student-focused amenity spaces. Developed by Landmark Properties and Wilmorite Development, the first phase, a nine-story apartment building with three levels of integrated parking, will supply 740 new beds and more than 8,000 square feet of commercial/retail space.

Surrounded by the University of Connecticut on three sides and in close proximity to the University’s new science and innovation center, the development is designed to house not only students, but researchers, visiting lecturers, parents, and other outside parties. The buildings include plentiful indoor and outdoor amenity space, including a study lounge, private study and meeting rooms, fitness center, roof deck, pool, sauna and cold plunge, and ample bike storage. Antonovich Associates is the design architect.
