Newman has begun work with Glendower on the redevelopment of Union Square, the eight-acre site across the street from Union Station in New Haven. Building on the Union Square Choice Neighborhood Transformation Plan that envisions 2500 units of mixed-income housing and mixed-use development on the site, Newman is collaborating with Dattner Architects on site planning and massing of the seven-building project.

Union Square will be a vibrant, inclusive community that offers modern amenities and opportunities for residents of all ages. In addition to mixed-income housing, the project will include retail, hotel, and community uses, as well as courtyards and public open space.

Glendower’s plan for Union Square lays out a clear road map for positive change, prioritizing safe, high-quality housing and fostering a thriving community. Union Square’s redevelopment aims to catalyze additional investments and establish the neighborhood as a place where people are proud to live, work, and grow.
