Yale University : New Haven, CT
Newman Architects, together with Bovis Management Systems, produced the Undergraduate Residential Facilities Planning Study in 1995.
Our team developed a process which sought out ideas from the widest possible array of individuals whose lifestyle or livelihood interfaces with Yale’s residential facilities. In addition, we took a fresh and thorough look at the current state of the residential facilities in terms of physical condition, programmatic strain, and the outstanding cost the University faces to complete the renovations.
From this process we developed a series of recommendations to provide the University guidance in the budgeting, planning, design, and construction of these projects. They include a variety of program enhancements, new planning arrangements, conceptual design standards and guidelines, and strategies for the scheduling and implementation of the renovations.
