Yale University : New Haven, CT
For decades Newman Architects’ Master Plan has served as one of Yale University’s armatures for renovation and growth. It continues as a guideline for campus planning. Millions of square feet of Yale’s buildings have been renovated and built using our ideas. We delivered guidelines for Yale’s Master Plan including innovation of Campus-wide facilities’ needs for long-range development, Residential Master Plan, Campus-wide shuttle system, Pedestrian paths, Campus parking including 3 parking garages, Freshman Campus, Introduction of co-education in Master Plan (1970), Open-space planning, Property evaluation and acquisition strategies, Campus interface with city neighborhoods, Yale Medical Center campus planning.
We constructed a campus topographic model which gave us a flexible three-dimensional evaluation of the campus and enabled Yale to maintain a holistic overview of its constantly changing campus.
